Introduction:

Dr. Chen was born in Yichang, Hubei province. He holds a PhD in Management and positions of Associate Professor, Assistant to the Dean and doctoral supervisor at the College of Agriculture and Rural Development, Renmin University of China. He is a Council Member of the Chinese Research Association of Agro-Technical Economics and a non-practicing member of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants. In 2008, he was an elected a visiting Chinese scholar to the British Academy. He spent four months engaged in research at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS). He was a visiting scholar at UCLA, USA for a year in 2013. He presided over four projects of the National Social Science Fund of China and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Main research interests include rural development and issues of migrant workers.
